Does anyone use Pixie by Tech4Learning? I've seen demos and it seems to combine KidPix and Kidspiration. I'd love to add it to our software. Just don't have lots of funds and wondered what people thought of it.
I have 2007 Vista at home with it's 'ribbon' interface and my entire, huge district works with 2001 and 2003 (which I think are way better). What are your schools using? Also, is there anyone who never used any versions of this application other than 2007. Your perspective is welcome.
I do not think that the ribbon interface is going away. I think at the high school level it would be useful for students to learn the current version of Microsoft Word.

But good news I thought people would be interested in. I just recently found out that if you have a Google account, you can LOCK the security features to the maximum strict filter settings and no one can change it except for you. You just have to remember to log out of your account when you are done. There is a free video that shows you how which was produced by Google...
My Mac (Leopard), freezes regularly while using Kid Pix, and the only fix is "force quit" and start again. Does this happen to everyone else? Is there a fix? Thanks - teacher4hire

LeslieI saw somewhere where a curtain was made by tieing them together. It was covering shelves in the computer lab.

At one time, somewhere on the smartboard, I saw an application where you put on balloons with answers behind them. When you popped the balloons the answers would appear. I am in desperate need of this, but I can't find it. Please help as soon as possible. Thank you.

We had a few teachers in my district where the LAT didn't show up at first and we had to reinstall the software. When you install, there is a specific box to check for all the galleries and a check box for the Lesson Activity Toolkit.

First let me confess that I am like an infant when it comes to some areas of technology, and this is one of them. I don't even have an iPod or fancy cell phone or anything like that.
I am downloading a couple of youtube videos to my iMac (OS v 10.4.11) using zamzar--so the videos will be an attachment to the email that I'll receive.
I selected downloading to a wmv format because that's what a friend told me would be good.
Once I get the videos emailed to me and download them to my Mac, how do I put them onto a DVD so I can send them to friends and families who have DVD players but they don't necessarily have a computer?
The other choices for downloading were: 3gp, 3g2, asf, avi, flv, gvi, iphone, ipod, m4v, mov, mp4, mpg, ogg, rm, rmvg, vob, and wmv. Believe me, I understand NONE of these!

Open an iMovie - import or add the files, you can edit them (cut out bloopers or bad parts) put transistions between movies or scenes, add audio track or music... then when finished send to iDVD.
Good Luck, N.
