I'm registering for national boards, and can't find a clear fit for certificate. I'm elementary, so career/technology isn't it; I teach computers to about 500 kids, K-5 grades, 45 minutes each per week, so elementary/generalist seems a stretch.

Has anyone faced a similar dilemma, and have suggestions? I know I can change later in the process, but they charge for every sneeze you make, and I'd like to get it right from the start. Thanks

I teach in the lab as well but could not for for NB in my subject area so I thought I'd do it in Reading but the contact time with students that they require is lots more than what I actually have with them. Similar to yours and also helpful was the 1/2-time computer, 1/2-time gifted teacher, who decided (successfully) to go with math and literacy. She, too, said the generalist was too broad. Susan from FL I teach computer class to 6th and 7th grade students in middle school. I used to teach Language Arts. I got my NBCT in Language Arts, last year.
