You would need to check with your state's requirements about adding Special Ed. to your existing certificate, but GCU has been a reasonable and productive program for me. I take one class a term which is very manageable.

Hi, I had applied for the CELTA course and my pre-interview task was accepted so I'm about to be interviewed over the phone next week. I'm not sure exactly how to prepare or what to do. So, I'd really appreciate any of your advice or recommendations. Thanks.
Lesley University is a great program for working teachers. I just completed the program. They offer classes 1 weekend a month and you only go to class for 22 months. I really loved the program it allowed me to focus on both my family, job and school work. For more information check out [link removed].

The workshops themselves are specifically designed to fill the gaps that some high school art teachers feel they have in their skill level and comfort with technology as a tool used in contemporary visual communication. If you're a high school art teacher who wants to address this missing component of your art and design education and bring your digital skills and toolsets up to par; and in so doing, reinvigorate your pedagogical approach to the disciplines your are already very familiar with, and perhaps along the way, reinvigorate your own practice as an artist, these workshops are for you. Space will be limited to 20 participants!
CEU credits are available for those teachers who wish to use the experience as professional development.
For more information, email me at: [email removed].
Thanks, and spread the word to all of your art teacher friends!!!!
The following is the prompt: Letter of intent to pursue doctoral studies in curriculum and instruction (The letter should contain a discussion of topics such as your motivation for doctoral study, areas of research interests, and how you envision using your doctoral studies to address educational issues of interest to you.),\
This is the body of my letter. To the Department of Teacher Education & Administration:
Thank you for your time and consideration. I am seeking admission to the University XYZ College of Education and into the Doctoral Program in Curriculum and Instruction.
As you will note from the enclosed resume, I graduated from XYZ in 2006 with majors in Political Science and Spanish and with a Master of Arts in Teaching in 2008. Following college graduation I joined XYZ as a founding teacher. We had approximately 13 teachers and 200 students our first year. Since then, XYZ has grown in size and has well over 600 students on our wait list. This is a tribute to the tremendous growth our students have achieved in such a short period of time.
Our students come to us often years behind their peers in other school districts. One of the challenges given to teachers was that of making use of every minute of instruction that we had available. Learning how to plan and knowing why I was teaching a certain lesson became and still is our focus. This is why the Doctoral Degree in Curriculum and Instruction caught my interest. I know that the experiences that I would receive in your program will affect the way I plan, teach, and assess, which will in turn affect my students’ experiences in the classroom.
I would like to discuss more about this program with you. My phone number is XYZ, and my email address is [email removed].
Is there any such institute, organization, college or university here in MD which offer continuing graduate courses for a week or two. I am reluctant to do any online coursework as I know I have a hard time sitting in a chair. BTW, even though I have my MD certificate, I am not currently teaching. Don't know if that makes a difference.

Is a PhD in Education or EdD worth it? What schools are the least expensive? Any on-line programs? Any doctoreate programs on line for instructional technology?
It depends on what goals are. First, there is generally a difference between a PhD and EdD. A PhD in Education is a research degree, designed to trainer those who want to study education. An EdD is considered a professional degree for those who had to move into leadership roles in schools and school districts. Therefore, you need to know what your goals are to decide if either degree is worth time, money, and effort.
One of the most respect online EdD program from Nova Southeastern University. Since the program was started by a traditional university, people have greater confidence in the quality as compared to solely online institutions like Walden.
Nova Southeastern has a concentration in instruction technology and online learning.
