They said the SAFE jobs were Health professions and Education, BECAUSE THEY WERE NECESSARY. My My My... how things have changed. Federal and State governments are cutting Aid to school districts across the Country. Government across the good U S of A see their "Fable Cash Cow" "the School System" as a way to solve their financial troubles. They are leveraging pressure against Educators nation-wide to do more with less. The newspapers say that it is time to get rid of the ineffective teachers. Their remedy is to pass on the money shortage problems to the homeowners, the middle class, that pay taxes to educate their children. The vast majority of teachers are hard working Educated professionals that have spent $100,000 to $250,000 on a BA degree in Education and then a Masters Level degree, another $100,000 to get a Job nation-wide whose starting pay is , on average $35,000. Oh, BY VAST MAJORITY I MEAN 95% OF ALL EDUCATORS. yes yes yes I AM THROWING OUT STATISTICS OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD.
WELL... HAY TEACHERS , LAY PEOPLE OUT THERE, THE CONSUMERS OF TEACHERS EFFORT IN THE CLASS ROOM , SHOW ME THAT I AM WRONG. Oh quess what, I have not even got into the hard working "Related Service Providers and the conditions they work through.
Folks I am not saying our profession should not do their part to get this beloved country on its feet. However as my grandmother once said, "don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

I would like to know of any sites that offer activities or materials for students during individual counseling sessions. I counsel all ages and need hands on stuff to emphasize social skills. Thanks!
