Self-Harm

I am a K-8 counselor in a small parochial school and have recently had a large number of reports that middle school girls are engaging in self-harm (cutting). I am familiar with procedure to deal with these reports individually but I am more concerned of the size of the problem. Do any other counselor have experience of this issue on this level?
