This year I have a group of students for oral language. They are very high readers, but have some gaps in grammar and vocabulary. I am required (district policy) to mirror what they are doing in the classroom, meaning I have to use the same reading story and vocabulary. I'm at a loss as to what activities and lessons I can do that are just centered around listening/speaking but still address the classroom story. Most of the resources I can find are for PK-1, but these students are in 3rd grade and read above grade level. I need lessons that are sophisticated so they don't get bored, but also address their need for speaking/listening practice.
