The Bhutan Canada Foundation and Cushing Academy will host a symposium to explore the question, “What does education in the 21st century look like?” In particular, what are the ideas, best practices, and pedagogy that will most effectively lead to the development of sustainable happiness amongst students? Through collaboration, discussions, current issue debate, and the presentation of case studies we aim to focus on four key areas: Values, Identity & Leadership; Experiential Education & Cross Cultural Learning Expeditions; Global Partnerships in Education; Technology as an Essential Instructional Tool.

The layoffs will constitute the largest actual “reduction in work force” the districts recent history. These deep cuts mean larger classroom sizes for students and teachers scrambling to figure out what's next for them."
When layoffs like this occur, it’s stressful and disturbing. What will those 1,015 laid off teachers do next? Dr. Victoria Boyd made the transition out of education and understands the teacher’s pain and anxiety. Her mission is to motivate those being forced out to build new careers based on passion. She hopes to provide teachers the tools they need to have a smooth transition and love their new life.
Boyd, author of “The Wealthy Teacher” wrote the book to help educators caught in the current wave of frustration due to layoffs and job dissatisfaction.
