Current Units that rock

These guys write current event units that they offer as a
subscription. Our district is going to buy the "suite" of
units as they call a purchase of all their subscriptions.
Each month you get a current event unit beginning with an
article they write on two reading levels. The units also
have everything from background info and vocab study to
helpful teacher pages that walk you through the unit and
other stuff. Cool discussion questions. No bells and
whistles and very user friendly. Saved me a lot of
planning time. I taught all three samples already and my
kids were into it (I kind of wish I saved one for after
end of course testing). I decided to stop requiring my
students to cut out articles for current events since
those days seemed more frustrating than successful. Both
of our district high schools and all middle schools will
have access to the units when school starts next year.
