I agree. I think this is a fantastic site. Neansai, maybe you were too quick to judge. I've used some of the lesson plans when I was in a bind and they worked out well.
Can you ad a chatboard for paraeducators, please? According to the latest statistics, (National Resource Centers) there are 500,000 paraeducators (teacher's aides) working in America's schools. There are no boards or forums for them, that I can locate. Teacher's Net is the largest resource for educators and should certainly include this highly valued group. Thanks, Robin

The problems in the inner city are different or at least seem bigger. Sometimes it seems that the suburban teachers jsut don't get it. (Or else assume we're teaching in hell.) Sometimes I'd like to get advice specifically from teachers who have been in the trenches. Thanks.

Great idea. Does anyone have any suggestions for other online resources for inner city teaching, particularly high school? I need help and ideas for classroom management, motivation, and lessons. Any response would be appreciated!
I don't know anything about how a board like this is developed. Do you have to have someone to oversee the board? If that is so, I'd be glad to help out. Being retired, I have time to do this sort of thing between doing this and that! I hope we can have a Six Traits board.

I see that you needed to vent, and I think that parents need to do that sometimes, too. Could you be more specific on how parents think their children do no wrong? Thanks!
I've only seen one response to my suggestion below, but heartily believe "if you build it, they will come". Please add a theater/speech/debate (all or one of the above) for those of us trying to find a place to share and learn!
This is a great idea. I would love to see a chatboard on speech/theater!

I would like to see a board regarding the topic of bullying. Bullying is in every school, and if we can have a board to discuss strategies of how to beat bullying, perhaps we can make the school environment enjoyable for our students.
On 11/13/01, I would really benefit from this as well. - nfm wrote: > On 11/07/01, Sheri wrote: >> I would like to know if there is a way to start up a new >> chatboard which would allow teachers to suggest and ask for >> center activities. Thanks, >> Sheri

Thank you for the feedback!
Center activities tend to be very grade level specific, so posting about center activities on the grade level chatboards is probably the most effective route. Yes? No?
