I never received a response to my need. If you e-mailed me, I never received it. I am still in the same position and it is worsening. Please if you can help me find help getting and where to submit and sending a application please resend the information to [email removed].
It would be great to have a chatboard for para-educators. I often pass the teacher board info on to my assistant. Is there a similar board for para-educators?

I think it would be great to have a chatboard for para-educators. This is my first summer filling this position and my first few days were such a shock. I'm learning so much and for similiar people to express their feelings would be great. Would anyone like to join? We could all benefit. -
We are looking for a tutor to work with elementary children during the school day. Some of these children have special needs; others just need a little extra help with reading. A few students need help with speech and language. Pleasant work conditions with supportive and cooperative faculty. Our school is located in Northbrook, IL, a suburb of Chicago. Call 847/498-1105. Ask for Annette or Wendy.
To the offical powers that be, I am one of the art people from the "Arts and Crafts " board. When I started posting on Teach. Net several years ago this one board I found to be very helpful and professional. In the last couple of years as I have gotten to know some of the people posting they are impressive. A question came up the other day as to the use of "crafts"in the title. Years ago when I started teaching art and then helped to jury shows the "crafts" were not considered part of the fine art catagory. It was a very bitter debate. Today that meaning of craft has changed again.Today crafts has taken on the meaning of the tongue depresser picture frames with glued on plastic spider. The true crafts, the weaving, ceramic, glass blowing, metal work has taken it's place in the fine arts catagory. A number of us wish you would change the Arts and Crafts title simple to Art. Again most of the people posting are art teachers and professioonal artist and we would prefer the more professional title. Thank you, Mrs. Jo Swingley retired art teacher and weaver

Our building is trying to put together an assessment for skills used in our computer lab to help prove that a trained professional is needed to supervise. We want something starting at kindergarten level and going through fifth grade. Any ideas!!!!
Greetings- I want to know if anyone out there can lead me in the right direction. I want to know if there has been any work done/success with using the responsive classroom model in a special education program for children that have been identified as Emotionally Behaviorally Disabled. Many thanks! dawn
Is there any way you guys can post a friendly reminder to stop CSET test preparation companies (Teaching Solutions and ace the cset) from advertising on your web site? (esp in the student teacher chatboard) Not only are they selling bogus products to scam us of our $$, but they are not honoring the fine print to advertise on your website. There is excessive postings about this topic by these test prep companies trying to get customers to buy there products, and there are people arguing/bickering back.
Can you put up a friendly, permanent reminder at the top of the chatboard, telling the test prep companies to stop advertising?

I've added their names to our filter system, but they seem to change names more often than Jefferson Starship. If you spot posts on our chatboards with their solicitations, send an email to webmaster @ teachers.net with the words "CSET spam" in the subject and include the URL (web address) of the post on our chatboard.
