There's a Tupperware consultant who goes by the name of 'Tonyak' who is posting spam all over Teachers.net. Can someone please ask her to stop? and remove her posts?
Use the "Report this post" link inside the message (nfm)/blockquote>

This would be an AWESOME resource for those of us who aren't going the university route to earn our certifications. There are more and more of us each year!

I think we can share comments and advices. I do not understand why some people think that we are second class teachers. It is a legal way to become a teacher. We did not invented this certification, the department of education did it. We do not have less education. We also went to college for at least 4 years and beside that we have to take extra credits in education. Little Star
First off, kudos to the people who own and operate teachers.net. It's wonderful to see teachers connect, share ideas, and chat in such an interactive way.
A couple of questions about the mailrings--
1. Do they work? I tried to sign up, but whenever I enter my email address, it takes me to a page that says, "Access forbidden" and error 403.
2. Are the mailring messages the same as the chatboard messages? I mean, if I sign up for a mailring will the chatboard messages be forwarded to my box? Or are they completely different discussions?

Hi, I'm sorry you haven't received any relevant replies, yet. I have answered your two questions below.

Apparently not. I am having the same problem when I try to subscribe to the mailrings, and I haven't been able to for months now. The "Access Forbidden" is new; before you would choose your mailrings, enter the email, and fine - but your email was never actually added to the list.

When you are subscribed to the mailring, you are notified of all newly posted chatboard messages in an email. You don't receive the entire posting of every message, but the name and subject with a link).
As a new teacher,, I am really enjoying the chatboards here. I have a question, though. How does one include hyperlinks in their posts? I have tried typing a web address into the Link URL box, but it never shows up in my post. I notice that many people will include a web address in their posts that is not linked, but I have seem some links. Am I doing something wrong? I appreciate having links within others' posts, so I like to do the same when I know of a site others might like to visit.
