Teacher forgiveness is not fair to the hard-working adult

I too feel victim to this unfair federal forgiveness program. I graduated in 1996 and became a teacher in an at- risk school. I was a hard-working adult student paying my way through full time school with student loans and part time jobs. I did not have parents to help me. after meeting every requirement except one (my loans were not all paid off by 1998. Are they crazy I just started working and never missed a student loan payment and they denied me! I work with the most challeging populations and I still owe 12,000 and have been paying this bloody loan since 1996. I feel the feds favor the young student with help from their parents. who can pay a loan back that fast? I agree this others who stated that a petition and some letters need to be written to push the date back. I do not feel i will ever be able to pay this back. Now I have a mortage, family and other expenses not to mention i paid for two Master's Degrees and a Post Professional Dip in administration all out of pocket since...See More
