Getting Job Support in a Small Private School

I am currently teaching music and art in a small private school for gifted children. My concern is with not getting teachers or the head of school to provide feedback to the sensitive nature of student dynamics and clicks that I am observing that exists in the school. I like the job very much, and for the most part, everyone is wonderful; students, parents, staff alike. On a couple of occassions, parents, or students have complained to the director of assignments or a request of them - that I made - such as working in groups, Students would go home and "cry their eyes out hysterically". They are a sensitive lot, I give them lots of time to complete an asssignment, and choice of who they want to be in a group with - someone gets left out - this is a major problem. A parent suggested that I meet with teachers to learn of the dynamics, I have reached out, but no one will step forward and assist me in gaining clarity.
