I would be interested in participating in a Flat Stanley project but it would not be until March because this is when I do my map/geography unit. Email and let me know if this works. Karen V
I work at a title one school in louisiana. My students will never leave the town much less the state. I am asking for teachers to volunteer to host a Flat Stanley. My students have been let down previous years by not receiving their Stanley's back. I know a teacher could not break a child's heart. Let me know if you are interested.
Due to budget constraints there will be one day, in a six day schedule, next year when I will not have a prep period. Another day I will have 2 preps. What are some suggestions to fill in that time so the kids could have a fun break at some point throughout the day? I have never had this possibility in my schedule.

There are wonderful 30 min. videos (Reading Rainbow from PBS, animal info filmed by Nat'l Geographic, Magic School Bus, etc.) I don't have time during our lessons to use these, so I show them during times when I don't have a prep period - when a special area teacher is absent (they don't get subs for them) or when inclement weather keeps us inside for recess.
Some of these can be accessed via United Streaming, I get some from the public library, or the school library.

I'm moving from K to 1st next year. I was wondering if I have individual dictionaries for the kids, where there are words in them, plus room for them to write in more words, do I need to have a word wall too?
