Can you please tell me what your district requires you to fill in on your CA-60 Insert Cards? Do you have to fill in the attendance by hand even though you are using Power School online or something similar?
A parent told me about this little youtube video that teaches the upper 9 multip. facts in just a few minutes. It's kind of a silly way to learn but is pretty fun and it actually works! The drawback is it doesn't teach the concept. :(
If you have kids who would like to publish their work, Diane's website is just the place. It's also a great teaching resource. When I asked her if I could interview her for my blog, she volunteered to give away 2 copies of her new book, in ebook form. Kids who submit writing will be entered twice in the drawing! See my blog for details.

I just finished an amazing book about a new teacher that used some interesting, unconventional strategies for getting through to his students. Very motivating, inspiring. A lot of people in my district have read it. It's on Amazon, Searching For A Savior... I think it's by Donovan. Great read!
Which would you prefer - an extensive, all-inclusive teachers' guide that you could tailor for the particular needs of your class or a compact, streamlined version that's ready to use? Why?
I am tutoring a 4th grader who needs to know how to write an algebraic equation given the domain and range (which they are calling input and output). In addition, the table of I/O does not include all the numbers. The student has to complete the chart as well. There were no examples in the workbook, or from the teacher yet.
We worked through the one step equations with a few straightforward questions about the numbers. I need grade appropriate strategies for two step equations. The strategies I have used previously are for high school and adult learners.
We worked on division last week, and now we're working on writing two step equations. I need ideas that take this sort of thing into consideration.
Stand in front of a desk with a book in your hand and say the following:
