Hello James, According to what you wrote, this teacher is certainly not aligning her teaching instructiton with the AP curriculum. I am an AP Frenh teacher myself, I am so fed up with these teachers that are not helping our students to achieve. This is mainly when the teacher is not a native speaker or when a teacher rather likes to keep easy and simple instructions. You duty as a parent is to reinforce what is suppose to be done in an AP class and the principal and the Board of Education will support you one hundred pour cent. Please do what you have to do because you son is one victime of a mediocre teacher. Bon courage. Bouncir

Does anyone know a good place to get weather reports in French? We're learning about the weather and I want to show my students an example of a live forecast. Any ideas out there?
On 1/21/12, Mme Erika wrote: > Salut, > > Does anyone know a good...See MoreI like to use meteofrance.com to have my students look up the weather in different French speaking places around the world - this also lends itself very well to a discussion of l'outre- mer. You can also see the daily live weather report on the site.
Enjoy!

That is a great idea. I noticed that they also have nice big graphics for beginning language learners. Thanks a lot.

I forgot to mention that students will have their own epal email address. You, the teacher, have to set it up, but students can log in and check their penpal responses and write back at anytime (but it will be filtered through you). This is a free service.
Elena NelsonHi I am interested in the exchange for the same year. I teach at a great high school in southern California. The school is Laguna Hills High School. I live about 10 minutes from the ocean in a home to exchange. I will be applying through Fulbright. Please let me know if you are interested

I have bought so many "Basic" french CDs to use in my classroom since the students are obsessed with music. But they all sound like nursery rhymes and have no English translations included. I finally found a good one and wanted to share. Enfin!
Bonjour, My high school French I students are learning food-related vocab and I want to do some sort of lesson related to the market culture--perhaps tying in markets in different Francophone countries. Does anyone have ideas, suggestions, lessons they used that worked, resources...Merci beaucoup!
I've actually been dying to do this for a while, myself! We're lucky enough to have two farmers' markets where I teach, so the kids could easily take a "field trip" (aka: walk down to the market) to do an assignment that I whip up. I may try it with my French III students- we're on Chapter 3 in Bien Dit! French 2. Lots of veggies and fresh ingredients to identify!

I am using the Discovering French series and in our edition, they still use francs. I'm looking for a photo/pdf of an authentic menu that uses Euros and is also simple enough for students in French 1a to begin to understand. Any suggestions? How have others solved the francs/euro issue?
Hi, I am looking for the cassette tapes that go DC Heath Discovering French Bleu (not Nouveau). However, this is such an old curriculum I am having trouble finding them! I was successful in finding the first 2 cassettes which cover units 1 & 2 but I really need the last 7, if any of you can help, I would greatly appreciate it!
