I have an aunt who recently came to California as an immigrant. She was a Supervisor for elementary school teachers for the southern region of the Philippines. She has more than 25 years of pre-school/elementary school education teacher. She was first a teacher, then a principal and then became the supervisor of preschool/elementary school teachers. she is very much wanting to be a teacher for pre-school and/or elementary school children in the united states, preferable in california. I would like to ask:
What are the necessary steps in order for her to become a teacher?
Ok I have mentioned it in the room now I am posting it! How about a mini gathering this spring in Delaware? Everyon is welcome! April 22 in Rehoboth beach. Usual activities available *and guaranteed no hurricanes this time :) !!!!!!!!! Local accomodations should be reasonable! There is camping nearby too! Let me know what you think! fizzy
That would be it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL I want the blinky devil horns though! annnnnnnddddd I still have my axe (needs to be sharpened a bit I think *hmmmmm wondering what they will think of it at airport security :-$ when I go to oz?) Actually, usual activities I was thinking of were more like crazy golf (AKA put put or minnie golf), shopping, sight seeing, eating and drinking! I don't have a karaoke machine........ but we do have a whole cable channel that has it :-D !!!!!! fizzy
I am returning to school to finish my degree and finally receive my Bachelors in Education. I went to a teacher information session a few nights ago and was told that most student teachers do not have the time to work a part time job. They find student teaching AND a part time job impossible. My question is how do these student teachers make it financially? Any advice might help!
Jenn, the Gatherings board is to set up in person meetings of people who post on chatboards use the chatrooms. I is not about exchanging information about how to do things related to getting a degree. Each board has a purpose.

thank you so much for your info and yes i checked into the Super 8 oneline and it did not get ratings and folks did not like it. I also have had problems with hotels like that blocking rooms so that you can get a discount and also had problems in the past with staff not knowing what you are talking about. Also that is not much of a savings and you get a full breakfast. Next time a gathering comes up you can be in charge but this is the hotel that we are using this time. We would love to have you come and visit or stay or you might want to stay in the Super 8 and visit with us if you feel you would like to save..

The Austin Gathering will start the afternoon of Thursday, July 6.
But remember, like Tnet, these gatherings are pretty loose and many people won't come in until Friday, some Saturday. Don't be surprised if one or two people are only able to zip by on Sunday.
Could go a long way to redeeming myself after planning a get togethr in Maggie Valley a few years back and then not being able to attend myself. Never have lived that one down....
