Thinks are fine---choatic, problematic, but fine. One of my houses burned down; dealing with insurance. Bad tenant being evicted. Still working at theeprison, translating surveillence tapes for the human trafficking unit. True my vim people, treating others like chattel. Worse than any other times, I think. I'll be glad when my 900 hours are over.
Going to Brazil in November. I've done 200 class hours in Portuguese, so I think a month in country should make me fluent. Other than that, not much. Girlie got married but they are still living with me.
Hope all is well with you all. Has anyone heard from Jen/Georgia? She was a young teacher who had our t-shirts printed years ago. Gina/4th/CA passed away from an undetected heart problem. She taught near me; her husband Tony passed away several years ago. She was much beloved by her friends and students; it was an unexpected loss.

Mr. VET has sleep apnea and had a very loud CPAP machine, so a little space was welcome;
Now, his new CPAP is very quiet and it was very difficult to get out of the high bed. Our solution was to get anew Tempera pedic(?) bed w/ a remote control that can raise the head and/or foot of the matttres which is on sort of a platform.
We gave our K-S bed to a young teacher couple w/ 2 boys. (Very nice people.) We also gave them all our K-S sheet sets, pillows, bedspread, blankets, warming bottom sheet, new electric blanket and King headboard. In exchange they will pay for a queen-sized headboard for us and a new bedspread (solid color) that will match our drapes. They have already given us their Queen electric blanket.

The 2 sons of the young couple love the new bed, too.
Thank you for the response, Betty Ann.

I want to shake the lot of them - for not noticing that he was so unwell, for not thanking him for the gifts and messages, for not appreciating his kindness and gentleness, or his thoroughness, for not seeing what a great listener he was - he told me so many stories about the sad things happening in other people's lives and was so sympathetic and constructive about them all. He never has a bad word to say about anyone, and he is funny! He did so much else too - as a health and safety advisor, a first aider, running the 100 club. Aaaargh!
My husband turned 60 last month. 2 days later they called him in and said "thank you for 28 years of service, but we now longer need you." So while he hasn't retired, that may be what actually transpires. He's been off for two weeks now, and is beginning to look a little less stressed. Long may that situation, at least, continue.
And hopefully, the same for the two of you. Hugs from across the oceans.
Moving on is a good thing. I...See MoreWell. Congratulations to him in the long run. It's difficult when one is not recognized for one's contributions. Something I suppose his co-workers will notice once he's gone very long term.
But. After the initial sting has worn off, hopefully he will move on. And find something more meaningful to do.
Moving on is a good thing. I suggest it for most people in most situations. Holding on to anger or hurt just slowly eats one up from the inside out.
Yes, panic attacks are no fun! It is very difficult if your son in not willing to help himself. I do not envy your situation. Sending hugs and prayers your way.
Today we had a scorcher as the temperature climbed to 33 C.
