I think Mr. VET would have been willing to forgo all, but a few tomatoes.

Last night and tonight temps are in lower 40's(F). During some days earlier, we had used our central air a bit.
Things had warmed up and dried up enough for farmers here to plant their crops. Hopefully, it is not cool enough to kill the cotton plants.
We have had to relight the pilot light for our gas logs and use our electric blanket again.

azteccali got snow last weekend--think it was like 6" in Yosemite Valley floor. Supposed to be another storm coming in tonight with snow above 6000 feet
Here's wishing all the mothers, grand mothers, and those serving as mothers a great day. I saw a slogan on a nearby church board that read, mother's are God's deputies on earth, how true. You have a very important job. Take care and enjoy!!!

At ...See MoreMy Dad died 32 years next week. He was three weeks shy of his 55th birthday. For me, that was yesterday. Dad and I were both May babies. Today I'm older than he ever experienced. I knew at the time (a 22yo mother of almost 2 children) that almost 55 was a young age at which to die. Today I'm so much more aware of just how young it is.
At the time, Dad had two grandchildren with one on the way and the eldest had just started to toddle. He'd walked 6 or 7 steps to Dad. He went from toddling a few steps to running up the long corridor the morning after Dad died.
At this point in time I have two grandchildren with one on the way. Both of my grandchildren started walking about 3 weeks ago, so are still in the early toddling stage. (Isn't that a marvellous time? Watching them explore and revel in their newfound skills is just amazing!)
I'm OK, but this is a big day and sometimes just a little hard to fathom.

I sent some emails to grade school classmates. Do they go to the person's email via classmates.com or do you only see it when and if you happen to log into the site? thanks, Ron
