Mr. VET planting smaller veg. garden

Mr. VET feels we can buy more veggies at local farmers markets because gardening is more difficult as we get older.

I am the "sheller and breaker", since I do not get around well at all, now.

VET to Elaine Good to hear from you, Elaine. Mr. VET had planned a much smaller veg. garden, but the couple we garden with are a little older than us, but are sort of like Energizer Bunnies, esp. the wife.

I think Mr. VET would have been willing to forgo all, but a few tomatoes.

Here's wishing all the mothers, grand mothers, and those serving as mothers a great day. I saw a slogan on a nearby church board that read, mother's are God's deputies on earth, how true. You have a very important job. Take care and enjoy!!!

Today I'm older than my Dad ever was

My Dad died 32 years next week. He was three weeks shy of his 55th birthday. For me, that was yesterday. Dad and I were both May babies. Today I'm older than he ever experienced. I knew at the time (a 22yo mother of almost 2 children) that almost 55 was a young age at which to die. Today I'm so much more aware of just how young it is.
