Hi, to anyone still around here who used to know me!!! Looks like it is much quieter around here these days, than it used to be, but hoping some of my friends from years ago might still be checking in, even if not posting :-) Skippy! xx
Today: cashew cheese cheese ball, polenta stacks, and leftovers.
...See MoreGreat dinner with DD and family. As always, we do our own thing: bread stuffing with chestnuts and pears, quinoa stuffing with kale and mushrooms, kale salad with orange dressing and walnuts and cranberries, and mini frozen coconut chocolate tarts. Yummy. I ate too much.

The many art projects she shared with T-netters are part of her legacy, and I'll always think of her when I see "mizlett's snowflakes" twirling on strings hanging from classroom ceilings.
KathyI have chronic sciatica. After my knee replacement it was totally out of control. The PT gave me a couple of simple exercises which have helped. I am also on anti- inflammatories. Kathy

Betty AnnOuch! I still remember the horrible pain I had from sciatica 16 years ago. I've had minor flareups, but nothing major in the interval. Good luck to you--and do the PT.

One of my daughters did Couch-2-5K and we got a running commentary every day...Still, she made it and then took part in a fun run for charity. My back won't stand for running so I am swimming again, but I hate the getting dry and dressed again afterwards :-(

Elaine/ret/INGreat news, Kathy! Sounds like you are taking great advantage of your retirement, keeping your finger in the pie, so to speak, while doing self-care as well. Keep walking.
I agree with Bill t a while back, he said, I think, that Golden Apples and Retired teachers should be merged into one board. I think that would be a good idea. I never even thought of anything other than retired teachers until someone posted on Retired board about Golden apples.
We just got some really good rain in Northern California, nothing compared to the South East hurricane rains, but none the less a good start to rain season. Actually it might help put out some forest fires. On fire actually was a finished controlled burn a week ago but somehow in the same area burned a few cabins.
The "Little Valley" fire in the Washoe Valley (the area between Reno and Carson City) has taken out 22/23 homes, several barns, and outbuildings. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined. The Emerald Fire around Lake Tahoe has been contained, leaving behind the possibility of flash floods. The rain helped a lot, but many homes are still in danger.

We are heading out in a few weeks and the online hotel price dropped $10 a night but I also called the hotel and they gave us a better room at a lower price so now our 3 night stay is $100 less than our original price. The car rental price has also dropped $25. This doesn't work every time but probably 80&37; of the time I can get a better price on one or more charges. A few minutes online and a few phone calls can mean a nice savings for us.
Hello Bev ... did you move to Jamaica ?
