I strongly recommend contacting Deborah Tackmann a middle- school/high school health teacher from Eau Claire, WI. She has brilliant ideas in all health areas but especially in teaching about the reproductive system. She is well know has published many health resources. She created a collection of lessons and units called "Outrageous Teaching Techniques in Health Education". She can be contacted via email at the following address... [email removed]
Hello, Our names are unimportant but we are in need. Our biology teacher has asked us and to teach the class about the reproductive system. The thing is we have no idea what to teach. The teacher is being very vaige and not telling us what to teach. We are unable to get on to teaching websites due to our youth, but would like to reveiw so to get some ideas. If anyone is able to help us please do. You may contact us at [email removed]
Is there anyone out there who could help me with some lesson plan ideas on how to teach upper elementary students about the reproductive system. Pleas e-mail me ASAP if you have any ideas or suggestions.

Have them reading about the important things that can improve their health as well as their students.
Seatbelts Fat in foods The rising incidence of Type II Diabetes in America brought on by unhealthy eating The benefits of daily light exercise Ways to counter stress
The human reproductory system is an integral part of the human body therefore should be taught in relation to it. All the systems in our body are interdependent upon each other and therefore the interdependence of the systems should be first introduced and ther the actual R. Sys. Reproduction being the main reason for the birth of any living organism on this earth should be taught with a proper scientific attitude by the teacher and should be inculcated the same in the pupils.
Dear Health Instructors: I just wanted to let you know about a non-profit organization called Eating Disorders: S.O.S. We send guest speakers into middle schools and high schools across the country to discuss the dangers of eating disorders with young people. This peer mentoring program promotes healthy body image and self-esteem, while trying to prevent eating disorders. As you know, eating disorders are a problem many young people face, and our guest speaker program has been very well received, since we send trained speakers with first-hand experience into the classrooms to share their personal stories regarding these disorders. This format reaches students better than any textbook, it seems. For more information, please visit our website at [link removed]!
Very sincerely, Jennifer Wood Fuller President of Eating Disorders: S.O.S.
Just click below for the articles/handouts/activities. There is a health activity for k - 3 under Activities, and an article "Teaching Children Refusal Skills" under Teacher Articles that may be of interest.
I am doing a science fair project on paste, and I wanted to use eggshells because of something I had read. I can't find out why eggshells would be good to use. How are they really similar? Tnx, rhea
i have failed the health certification test and i would like to know if there is anyone out there that could help me with passing the test. Materials or resources to get. thanks, phyllis
I am 5'7". In 2001, I weighed 278 lbs. Changed my eating habits. Now, in 2005, I weigh 240 lbs. I have begin walking, some outside, some on treadmill. I also lift light dumb bells. About 6 or 7 lbs.
My question, my stomach sags. If I do crunches, will that be enough to pull in my stomach? I will not have surgery done, unless it becomes a health factor. Are there other exercises you can recommend to help pull in my stomach? I have one of those "ab rollers" that you grab the handles on either side and roll out and back in. Will that help any?
I have been told that, if you are heavy for too long, surgery may be the only way to pull my stomach in -- that the elasticity in my stomach muscles cannot bounce back on its own.
I will post this on the PE board as well. Thanks in advance.
Thank you for your advice. I will seriously consider the things you suggested. I have heard that a gradual weight loss is more likely to stay off than a major weight loss. But, I do plan to intensify my work out. Thank you for your reply.
Mark

Check out the ABS Diet by the editor of (I believe) "Mens Magazine". What is your diet like? Do you spread the calories out during the day or just eat 3 large meals? If you eat less more often, I think it would help. I have the same problems though with my stomach. I am not overweight, but I am overfat and it is ALL in my stomach. The ABS diet suggests what foods are best for a healthier body and ultimately a flatter stomach...some examples are dairy foods, peanut butter, almonds, beans, spinach and other green veggies, eggs.
i hope someone here can help me. i know that many people do not take the health science ssat so hopefully one person on one of the message boards can help me =( i know at the end of the free practice health science exam on the website, they give you a list of about 25 health books that they got their info from. i ordered about 4 of them but i wanted to know if those are the best ones to study from. does anyone have a book reccomendation for this test? i bought a huge downloaded practice ssat health science for 35 dollars from a company called cal tech solutions. im pretty sure i was ripped off because more than half of their questions are not in the curriceulum posted on the official website of things you need to know. i only have 2 shots to pass this (once in march then in may) before the cset company takes over and makes the test much more difficult. i will hate myself if i dont pass the second time lol. thanks =D
