Yes, it is important for students to know how to resuscitate someone if a parent, a friend or a loved one has a life- threatening emergency. AED training is vital to survival of adults in cardiac arrest. Many people have died as a result of people being untrained and/or not having an AED readily available. I currently teach staff members of schools these skills, but if more people are trained, more victims of cardiac arrest can be helped.
Brisbane Australia. My wife, Penny has, Sjrogrens. She has dry eyes(almost unbearable at times)and dry mouth, which at times is very painful.I read about the use of "Restasis" in the US.So,we went there, got an appointment with a specialist, got a prescription for Restasis, and she started using it straight away.she "thinks"her eyes are marginally better than they were before, but they are still shocking. She's using "Refresh" at the moment,as well as the restasis,to try to get some moisture into them, but they always feel as though they are full of sand.Somebody in one of these forums is using "soothe" with good results. Can someone give us some ideas of other products to try ? any suggestions at all would be appreciated.
Can someone help me understand why these teachers trying to be sports coaches and team coaches and then be convicted or accused of sexual assault or so? I am just not registering it?
A business on the ground floor of Market Square was heavily damaged by fire early Tuesday morning. The blaze broke out around 5 am and Victoria fire crews arrived to find the back kitchen area of the Green Cuisine vegetarian restaurant engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished and the restaurant sustained about $300,000 worth of damage, according to battalion chief Mark Wells.
Wells said it appears the fire started near a cooler and does not appear suspicious. Firefighters are trying to locate the owner.
Lower Johnson Street was closed for part of the morning but single lane traffic is now being let through.
Businesses on the second and third floors suffered smoke damage and firefighters brought in fans to air them out.
I am a first year teacher in my second semester. I have a class that is so small and every seat is filled, 37 kids. There is so many kids and it takes so long to get them to stop talking that I cant get my lessons done. Ive tried various teaching techniuqes and discipline actions but they wont stop talking. What do I do
You may find posting on the Classroom Management and Discipline Chatboards helpful.
p.s I didn't mean keep them in LONG when the class is over, but in one minute increments. After explaining what you are doing, don't say anything, just write one minute on the board, then two. Be sure to follow through.

If your school and its community really cared about kids learning health ed, would they put 37 kids in one room? No. So they don't care - first understand that. Then why should the kids care if their community and its school don't?
But you care and that's great. I'd say forget real lessons. You can't talk over 37 kids much less teach. Even if they're quiet, they're learning nothing. Show films - there are interesting films out there. Do you have a laptop connected to a video projector in the ceiling? I hope so. Show them red blood cells magnified - there are some great web sites. Or shorten your lessons - it will always take a while to get 37 kids in a small room to stop talking. The only way would be to give them something compelling to watch as does a film or a theater performance- those keep large numbers of people quiet. Good luck to you.
I have a VHS copy of a BBC drama Starring Lenny Henry. It is about the effect of drugs on his life and a football club that he set up for users and those trying to come off.

I'm currently doing my student teaching & will be finished with my Master's in School Health Education in May. I'm NOT going to be dual certified in Physical Education & I'm hearing that this will hurt my job opportunities. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks!!!
I have a masters in health education and I've found it very difficult to get a job. I currently sub full time. Its not impossible to get a job with just the health cert, but at least in new york, the jobs are few and the competition seems to be fierce. Good luck.

In our state, we can just pass the Praxis if we already have another certification. I had PE cert. and tested out to get my Health cert.
