I'm a high school student. Our teacher left us with a homework to conduct an interview with five teachers, asking this question:
"Is good health possible in an imperfect environment?"
Unfortunately, I was in an out-of-school event, and arrived at the last period. It was said to be due tomorrow. I don't know I I'm supposed to be exempted from this, but just to be sure, I'm going to do it. I can't afford to lose more points.
I know that the health and well-being of school children has become a concern in today's times; it struck me as a shock and saddened me when I found out that not all schools have a mandatory gym/physical activity period.
To help with this epidemic my company, the Global Corporate Challenge, has been fortunate enough to be able to create an entirely FREE Children's Challenge to help children understand the importance of being active, and having them incorporate it into their daily lives.
Fast Facts: - The 50 day challenge starts on Thursday, 15th September and finishes Thursday, 3rd November 2011. - Open to any class in the last 3 years of primary/elementary/junior school (typically aged 8-12). - Every child is provided a free pedometer to measure their activity levels. - Each class participates as one team. - It is completely free! The event is proudly supported by the Global Corporate Challenge® (GCC).
Students will record their daily activity levels using a GCC pedometer aiming for 15,000 steps each day. Working together as a class, their total steps are combined, converted to kms, and plotted along their virtual journey around the world. Teachers and students can track their daily progress around the world on the GCC award winning website - [link removed].
We have minimal spots left but I want to get the word out to as many people as possible. If we have higher demand, I am hoping that I will be allowed to approve and have even more classes involved than originally intended.
If you are interested I encourage you to go to [link removed].
