I don't eat a lot each day and we have our main meal at lunch. Generally we don't eat dinner. I love fruit of most kinds. Is there some kind of diet eating mostly that? Exercise I don't get b/c of a bad back. I'm about 20 lbs. overweight.
On 6/22/11, KD...See Moreon WW almost all fruits and vegetables are 0 points. But you still need to get your protein and fiber. In order to lose weight, you have to use up more calories than you take in. That means you have to work harder to burn those calories - rev up your metabolism- and the older you get the harder it is. WW has a lot of merit.

Started a "diet" on July 1st and already lost 8 pounds. I'm eating fruit (mostly bananas and grapes) and if I really feel that I need something naughty I eat a little 100-calorie bag of cookies or Cheese- its (you can buy them , 6 in a box- small enough to lack calories but big enough to satisfy your craving). For dinner I have a Lean Cuisine. That's it. Fruit, Lean Cuisine and a little 100-calorie bag of cookies. I haven't been able to walk due to the excessive heat here in NY and now today it's raining. If I walk, along with the dieting, I hope to lose more. It IS possible to lose weight once you make up your mind. I finally made up my mind when I saw the picture of Paula Dean on the cover of a magazine. She looked FABULOUS! I said to myself , "if she can do it, I can do it".

I have to put eye drops in my eyes a lot during the day. many times, it's during class or I can't even open my eyes or see. So, I'm touching my eyes a lot. Rubbing them if I'm in study hall and dont' have the drops. If i have the drops and somewhere without a sink or hand disinfectant, I put the in anyway because I need them so much. Restasis did nothing for my problems.
Anyway. Pink-eye. Ahhhhh... I cleared out files the last 2 days of school and bam! pink-eye my first day out of work.
I almost didn't open your post and read what you said in it. The nfm you are seeing on the boards means 'no further message' and is saying there is no need to click on and read inside the post, that all the information has been typed in the subject and name fields.
He is currently trying Restasis, which doesn't seen to be doing a whole lot, but the dr. said it will take 3 mos. to work. I think it's been a couple of months.
Otherwise, other things they have been having him do is use over-the-counter preservative-free lubricant drops (like Refresh Optive, though we are trying Target's Up and Up Brand right now), and Systane Balance (also available over the counter) lubricant drops.
The dr. also put in what I think are called punctal plugs in the lower and upper eyelid ducts. My dad thinks that has helped the most, so far, though the problem still is pretty bad.
The punctal plugs help the retain moisture on the eyeball from draining away in the tear ducts.
Good luck to you. From experience with my Dad, it can be a hard to treat condition!
I am trying to get motivated to exercise more this summer and to stay away from food that is not good for my health. So far it is hard. Does anyone have suggestions?
As a former bodybuilder, I know the importance of eating many times a day. I had seven meals and drank two gallons of water a day and lost 42.5 lbs. in eleven weeks. Increasing your meals keeps your metabolism up. Try not to eat after 8:00 pm.
What do you do to relieve the stress from teaching? I am active in scouting with my boys, but that often seems like just more responsibility! I try to work out but it is difficult for me to invest the time with all the others things that need done.
Hope your stress becomes more manageable, here are a few great sources:

Basically I do a lot of breathing and reading - that's my escape..walking sometimes too, but seems like its always dark by the time I get time for myself. - Gen F.

Most guys' neckties are infrequently laundered, by the way, and crawling with all manner of stuff you don't want to get near. It's a particular concern, though, with doctors and dentists, who get up close and personal with people who are already sick or are undergoing surgery.

Sally HedleyI totally agree. my husband and I started running together -usually at the end of the day. At first I dreaded it but now I look forward to a two mile run because it clears my mind and takes alot of stress off of me.
