Congratulations to Babs on her tremendous weight loss. I didn't need to lose anywhere near that amount but have lost 15 lbs and have maintained that since Christmas. Mostly, I eliminated all bread, potatos, and rice from the menu. Breakfast consists of cereal and a half banana. Mid- morning snack is about 1/3 - 1/2 cup unsalted peanuts. My lunch is usually salad greens with walnuts and strawberries, topped by a tablespoon of low fat raspberry vinagarette dressing. Dinner is a small portion of meat or fish with lots of vegetables. Bedtime snack is about 8 oz. of fat free yogurt and about 1/3 cup almonds and chocolate chips. Because I allow myself treats, I'm never hungry. Oh, yes, on grocery shopping days I even treat myself to a dark chocolate bar.

Exercise is minimal according to standards but sometimes I get a real workout in my garden.

VET Skipping the white stuff is a good idea. I have read it before and you are proof it works.

As a long-time diabetic, sweets are not a big problem for me, but I absolutely love carbs, the white stuff. Carbohydrates are my weakness.

I am going to try to cut back. I know carbs turn into sugar and can raise blood sugar.
