Does anyone have any "scientific" or evidence research on the Fast Forward program in regards to LD?
Several years ago I came across an inventory geared to young children with picutes and stories. Does anyone know about this or one that is similar? I would like to do this with my students. Thanks!
I live in Sarasota County, Florida. My husband and I are desperate to find a qualified School/Teacher/Tutor for our 8 yr. old daughter. She has been diagnosed by a well respected Neuropsychologist with cognitive language processing problems. A few select and very expensive private schools offer intervention. Our daughter will be repeating 1st grade for the 2nd time. We have tried to educate ourselves and have done much research on some of the more aggressive programs available. I'm convinced the Linda Mood Bell program can be the answer. Although the school we're considering uses the SPIRE reading program, and I'm concerned that it might not work, she can't afford to lose another foundational year of her education. Has anyone had better sucess with one or the other, or perhaps share any info/opinions. We are also hoping to find an educator in Sarasto County that has been trained to tutor her with this program as well. Thank you all for your concern and guidance.
My daughter too has been diagnosed with Dylexia, ADHD, Short-term Memory Impairment, along with Severe Anxiety. She too received extensive testing. Recommendations were made for her to start one- to-one tutoring with the Linda Mood-Bell programs (Seeing Stars and Lips), as well as the Wilson Program. She has been attending these classes after school, twice a week, 45 miles away since January 08. We have already seen DRASTIC changes in her school work as well as her self-esteem and self-confidence. We still have a long way to go.
Go with your heart...no one knows your child better than you....(I had to learn the hard way, I let the school tell me what to do. If I had went with my gut in the beginning, my daughter might not have had to repeat 1st grade) If you feel these programs will benefit your child, fight for it..... I am also trying to get these programs implemented in our school district... Best of Luck!

hi I want to ask about this education. Is there any free education like this again in Kuala Lumpur? Please, give me the information about it. Thank you for your kindnes.
I think you're missing an important point! NO ONE is saying that kids don't need to move during the day. That's common sense and should be done. The problem comes in when people make grandeose claims and state fraudulent (or non-existant) research extrapolating benefits of movement to creating expensive programs requiring specific movements, hiring trainers to teach them, and implying that these can fix learning disorders.
That is the problem. Movement is great! Marketing the "sale" of movement to get rich off of those who don't understand research and only believe hype and testimonials is unconcionable.

The articles that u have mentioned are all very good and thought provoking. I agree that in their(All the great and wonderful parents of mentally challenged children)zest to help their children, they are trying their best to do something/anything. Can u blame them? I'm sure many believe that their children(even if 1% success rate)would be the one successful in one of such questionable programmes! Evidence based teachings/programmes should be the way but sometimes it does not give much hope. I feel those who are embarking on questionable programmes should go in with their eyes wide open.
Now, can using methods, like Doman,Shichida etc, to teach normal childrens' intelligence be increased?
I saw very little "freebie" stuff on the site except info on
how to buy their products and services.
