I just moved from a middle school library to a high school library. The HS ibaray has about 1400 students and a rather small library. The past librarians used cutter numbers. Is this par for the course at HS library? We didn't use them in middle school. Any help?
I;ve been the new gal at three librarians in a row, and believe me, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! It would take far more work to remove cutter numbers from books and records and signs than it would take to just proceed.
Cutter numbers are not hard to find when importing catalog records.

We had a couple of videos donated to us, but they were missing cover art. Would it be fair use, or a copyright violation, to use an image of the original cover in its place?
I would think it would be okay because it's not interfering with sales or anything, but I'm not too sure because it would be using an image off the internet.
Does anyone know of any very easy chapter books for a 7th grade boy to read? He can read anything, his comprehension is at a first/second grade level. He has read all of the Read It Readers at the dot and 1 AR levels. Does anyone know of any other series or companies out there? Thanks for your help.

A form of harassment via text messaging, IM, blogs, chat rooms and web threads has taken prevalence in recent years. - Guy Weaver in Teachers.Net Gazette, September 2009
