PattyFrom your username I'm guessing that you are a Wayne State LIS student? :)
To answer your question, no I don't think it would hurt you. I would suggest that you become heavily involved in your professional association for teacher-librarians in your state. This provides a fabulous way to network.

Hi Lisa, the University of Colorado Denver School Library and Instructional Leadership Program is offered totally online as well as the traditional methods. All courses are taught by the same professors, so the content is the same. I am one of the instructors and have been a school librarian almost forever!
Does anyone know of any graduate classes (one week sessions) being offered in the State College, PA area this summer related to "library skills". I would be interested in any course related to technology also. Thanks!! Pam Ott, Elementary Librarian
