Hi! Last year, I used some good folders for library check out - instead of library cards. Students could place their reading logs in the folders. This year, I was unable to find the same folders for a similar price. I checked everywhere. The folders that I used last year had pockets - which I liked. However, I have resigned to using the manila type folders this year because of the increased cost for good pocket folders. I'm curious what other elementary librarians use for checkout "cards". Thank you for sharing any new ideas.

Lynn The checkout folders are easier for the children/teachers to keep up with because they are larger. They can also put their AR info. and reading logs in the folder.

Former librarian Lynn, I've never heard of anyone doing it that way, but if it works for you then that's good. The last 12-13 years I worked, my program was computerized, so we didn't deal with cards anyway.
