What is 'high complexity'?
You're looking for nonfiction books that are a difficult read? Difficult in the subject matter or the reading level?
Without knowing for sure what you're looking for here are some works of nonfiction that can be used at the Middle School level if indeed you have very strong readers and students who approach literature in mature manner.
I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings Night To Kill A Mockingbird
Nonfiction articles abound. Pick up any newspaper or are you looking for expository essays?

To Kill a Mockingbird is a fiction novel, not nonfiction. I am not so sure that it is suitable for middle school. Can they understand the complexity of the rape, the attack on Atticus' children, and all the different social levels brought into the story?

Scott Foresman, in my opinion, has excellent leveled readers. However, you're going to pay through the nose because they're part of their "Reading Street" textbook series.
The "Wright Group" publishes an excellent set readers as well. You might want to check them out.
If you're looking to find readers that are super cheap, just go to ebay. I know several homeschoolers who have purchased entire sets for a fraction of the price.
I was just commenting on the Smartboard page about using ebooks and realized I hadn't seen anything on ebooks on this board. Does anyone use them for actually teaching lessons in their classrooms, or just for free reading? I use Storia (scholastic.com/storia) and am happy. What other ones are out there that you are using?
