I am looking for teachers (Grades 1-5) to participate in a 20-min online study for my dissertation. I am almost finished collecting data but I need 14 more teachers to participate. The study will examine how teachers evaluate school-based consultation services for students with reading difficulties.
To participate in the study, please click on the following link (or cut and paste the link into your web browser):

This link will direct you to an online survey that contains two video clips depicting a school psychologist and teacher discussing strategies to help a child with reading difficulties. You will be asked to complete 45 rating scale items following the videos.
I hope you will consider participating! Thank you for your time and contribution to the field of education!

Due to the steady decline in our student enrollment over the past 3 years, I am now the Fifth and Sixth Grade Teacher. I will be teaching children in all subjects, excluding science. I have had experience teaching different grade level math groups during the summer. Respectfully, I am not clue less, but having never taught full-time in a multigrade position, I am seeking all advice, guidelines, strategies, planning ideas, and methods for managing the two groups: providing aggressive and high quality learning experiences. What is included in an initial effective teacher talk and set of activities that will facilitate and contribute to a positive tone and framework throughout the whole year? I know there are many perspectives, and I would like to hear as many possible(simple and complex.). What are the top three tips etc. you would offer? I do feel a bit nervous, but I enjoy trying new things. I enjoy teaching, and I want to be well organized and very effective in this new opportunity to impact the lives of my students. Please include experiences with parents and advice for dealing with their concerns, if any. I appreciate your taking time to read my post and thank you in advance for any and all help and encouragement. Kyle, Michigan

I know that this job will run my life if I let it, but it’s with me all the time, I have trouble shutting it off, even for an hour or two. I am absolutely exhausted. Please advise!"

You could either do this on a powerpoint if you have time (and can save it for next year) or just index cards that you flip over. Earning points for extra recess would be a good prize ... have fun!
