In case you have not figured it out.... There are 15 outcomes (1,2,3,4,5) times (red, white, blue). You multiply 5 x 3 for the number of outcomes.
For probability, the number of outcomes will be in the denominator.
For the numerator, it depends on what you are looking for.
For example, the probability of choosing a 1 and getting red.
P(1 and red) would be 1/5 (There's one #1 out of 5 numbers) times 1/3 (Red is one of three colors.)
You find the product of 1/5 x 1/3 = 1/15.

I ask the question for the sake of curiousity. I want to know what...See More I was told that tutoring college students is the worst experience in terms of teaching. College students never have money and they, for the most part, do not seek long-term tutoring. I do not ask the following question because I have some desire to someday be a math tutor.
I ask the question for the sake of curiousity. I want to know what you have to say about math tutoring as a part-time job. What is the best grade to math tutor? Would you say grades 1-5 or 6-8 (middle school) or 9-12 ( high school)? What do you say?

I imagine that by now you have figured out this problem. If not, try making a tree diagram.
