I am looking for a new 6-8 math program to implement in my middle school. Not sure exactly where to begin this search. What program(s) do you use? What do you like about it? Any advice? Thanks!
Not a program but a different type of resource. If you would like a complimentary sample let me know. I only ask that you send me a review that I could post on my new website.
Let me know if you would like permission to duplicate onto your students USB Flash Drives.
We use Math In Focus and love it. Only thing is you will need training on the program but it really works. We did quite well on PARCC last year and think we might have done better this year.
Our school will start teaching common core algebra 2 this coming school year.Where can I find the complete and organized curriculum to follow (please not Engage NY; it's a mess)? Any websites to recommend? Thank you.
I could use your advice, your suggestions, and your help including the best sites you've found for resource materials.
As you can imagine, I will TRULY appreciate whatever help you can provide ASAP, as I started with kids on Thursday after being hired on Tuesday. (Technically, REhired, as I had worked at this school for a long time prior.)
CMU faculty Dr. Vincent Aleven is looking for teachers/schools who use EngageNY for middle and/or high school math and who might be interested in collaborating with him as he builds intelligent tutoring software to enhance/compliment EngageNY curricula. Please contact Gail Kusbit at [email removed].
I am tutoring high school math students. What specific skills/concepts would you suggest I work with to help them transition from algebra to geometry? I'll be working with them through the summer. Thanks!
As a Geometry and Algebra II teacher, I would suggest ensuring their Algebra skills are very strong. In my class I had them calculating values of angles using algebra concepts. We blended algebra and geometry together this way.

That is great preparation for the logical thinking Geometry requires. If the students will be learning to write proofs, this would be a great help.

Anyone have guided notes for students for the red and blue books of Big ideas that would be willing to share as I am implementing the series this year?
