My plan is to use the stories I use in reading and tying in the Grammar and writing prompts from those selections. What else should I do in this class?
I have unjournaling topics. Should I do DOL? Should I do spelling of some sort? I think I will do Woodman of the World speech contest.
I haven't taught anything like this in 25 years so any and all suggestions are welcome.
Try author studies and literature circles This way your students read, collaborate, think critically, develop vocabulary and reading skills and writing activities can be tied into the readings.
Hi, I am looking for a website that my grade 6`s can use to use to help them with geometric transformations like translations, reflections and rotations. I can`t seem to find the interactive website I used to use. Thanks for your help.

I am really trying to figure out how to do my 8th grade English sections (it is renamed literacy for some weird reason) plus still do my three sections of reading. High schools says these kids need more Grammar so I am trying to work on that.
What does a 45 minute English/Grammar class look like in your middle school?
Hello. I began student teaching in January of this year but for various reasons I had to stop halfway through. I will be finishing my second placement in September. Has anyone else experienced this or known someone who has?

If any 6/7 grade teachers are interested in joining for our classes to share Pen Pal letters monthly for 2011-2012, let me know! Should be a fun, culturally awakening activity for our students!
