I am having trouble with a difficult student. She recently told me "No one likes you" "You need to stop talking." How do I respond to this?
Jim Let the student know that you would like her to choose to remain in class, but she will have to remain without disruption. Add that you would be glad to speak with her after class. Mshope We actually had a student like this last year. She is the terror of the school- mean, a bully, bad home life, and just extremely defiant. Sometimes she would just come to school enraged. I would try to talk to her and get her to calm down. If I couldn't, I'd put in the hallway away from an audience. If she couldn't work quietly in the hall, I'd cal...See More
