Hi I have gone from middle school to grade 2/3. It has been awhile since I have taught lower elementary.Would anyone be willing to share any of their daily routines, schedules, activities etc. ? Also, I'm wondering how most people here who teach a combined class go about it...do you tend to separate the grades when working or teach the same but vary the activity according to grade? I would be very grateful if anyone wants to share info with me :) Thanks!

gail Thanks Laura for your post. How do you teach your Science and Social studies? I am planning on teaching my Lang. Arts and Math the same as you. I am sure that I will get the hang of the 2/3 split quickly, I am just nervous because it is new to me and I don't have everything planned yet! Are you in Canada or the US?

JJ It sounds as if you run it the same way I do. I don't really have any suggestions... but, while the 3rd graders memorize multiplication facts, you can make sure your second graders are solid in addition and subtraction, that way they will be ready to memorize the multiplication next year.
