Do you have a quick template of a staff that you can use on your smartboard? I would like to have easy access to one that I can use while teaching. Can anyone help?
I've also made one in Smart Notebook Draw a line, clone it 4 times, lock in it place Takes about 1 minute to create.

I am starting an elementary music teaching job using pretty old textbooks - Silver Burdett Ginn Music Connection 1995. Some of the songs on the cd say "pick-a-track" and when I play them I only get the vocals without the accompaniment. Is there any way to get the accompaniment also, I assume that's what pick-a-track means?
MicheleThis is usually controlled by which speakers you use, left or right. Some stereos you can turn to the left or right speaker. Or you can unplug one of the speakers.
So, you need to be working with a playback devise with two working stereophonic speakers.
I'd say one of your speakers is out.

I've been approached to provide 2-3 afterschool programs next year. 7 weeks each, one day per week for one hour. It's a paid job. My thoughts were mallet madness, bucket drumming, and ukuleles. Any other suggestions? It's a pretty brief amount of time.
I have a 5th grade "honor" choir that meets before school once each week for about 30 minutes. We perform at Veteran's Day, go caroling at Christmas time, put on a Christmas musical, and participate in my district's Elementary Choral Festival. Now, the kids audition for this, but what they don't know is that I pretty much take everyone. I have strict rules for absences, and what they need to wear, but other than that, my goal is to give them a little idea of what choir might be like in 6th grade next year. So, an all- singing group, might be a good idea for those kids who just like to sing.
I also have an "Orff ensemble" that meets once a week and it's for 4th graders. Again, auditioned group, but I pretty much take everyone who wants to participate. This group participates in the Green Country Orff FEstival in the spring. So, their main purpose is to learn to sing all of the songs chosen for the festival, choose one to play the accompaniment, and choose one to create movement. They are a performance group, but, they only have one performance.
A friend of mine just got back from Africa, and she is inspired to create a before-school drumming group that will perform also. I have also thought about creating an advanced recorder group for those who wanted to improve their recorder skills and possibly play duets. There's just not enough time in the week! :)
So, those are my ideas! I think yours sound great too! Good luck!
