So frustrated

We have our Christmas concert in one week and we just came back from a week of vacation. We had our first and only staging rehearsal after school today and it was a disaster Everything went wrong from the risers to the recordings and even the accompanist didn't know her music. The kids have forgotten their songs and cannot hold their parts, and now the parents (maybe just one or two I don't really know) are complaining to the principal about me scheduling too many rehearsals. Last year I used to get the kids every other day for 45 minutes, but this year I can only see them before school for 25 minutes. My mistake was choosing music like we used to sing and we just didn't have time to learn it well. I have to find a way to fix this concert without seeing the kids!!!! Even though I am the music teacher this choir is basically a volunteer job, and I just feel like cancelling choir for the next semester.

joyfulmusic teacher Here is a great rule of thumb. If you only get 25
min...can you get them twice a week?

Friend is doing concert with volunteer MS choir. She has
25 min rehearsal 2x per week for about 7 weeks. It works
for her, but they usually only do 2 songs.
