How do you start your classes

I'm new to P.E. I am assigned 4, 5 and 6 grade physical ed. I have never taught this area before. My subject area is art. I'm not sure how to start the class. Any and all ideas are welcome and would be greatly appreciated.

lndsywvu Establish a routine that they do everyday. You can put them in squads in ABC order and take attendance while they stretch for example. Or everyday haev them come in and start jogging to music for 1-2 mins.

Cybrary Man I agree with lndsywvu. Children should follow the same routine so they know what to expect when they come into the gym. You also have to make sure they know when to stop all activity so have a good signal or whistle count for that.
