My collegues and I were talking about having a Sports Day in June. We have no PE teacher so I decided I would take this project on. We have approx 150 stduents in grades PRE- K through 4. We have one classroom per grade level and 2 teachers in each class (Teacher + Asst.). My questions are: What are great activities that all grades would like? How should I set it up? (I was thinking a circut where classes take turns playing against each other in teams) We have a large gym, but a small budget for the activites. We have no gym equiment either. What are low budget ideas? How about food/refreshments? Thanx for anyy suggestions!
cybraryman@hotmail.com Yes, you can have a fun time with your Sports Day which is very similar to a field day. Setting up stations is the way to go. You can have standing broad jump, frisbee throw and similar activities. On the Physical Education page on my website I have a section on field days that have good suggested activities.
