I recently just took over a p.e. position in the middle of the year. And this is my first teaching position. The old teacher had a giant cupboard of equipment. However, when I went the first day of class, I noticed almost all of it was gone. I asked the principal about this and she said that most of it was the instructor's. She did say that she would buy new equipment if I gave her a list of things I needed.

I have no idea where to begin. What should I ask for?? What kind things do I need to have?

Timothy Good luck with the new position. As a director of elem. PE I would recommend that whatever you do get, get enough for at least one pc. for every two students. E.g. 30 kids in a class you should have at least 15 bballs to maximize on hands activity time. Poly spots and "gator balls" are very popular and easily adaptable to numerous activities. Gator...See More
