"Mr. Trump could soon face a decision: veto the bill — a move that would fuel accusations that he is doing the bidding of President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia — or sign legislation imposing sanctions his administration abhors."
Again, you're hope, no matter what happens, is to see Trump embarrassed...See MoreWell, Bob, I'm listening to former speaker Pelosi (for some unknown reason). She is concerned that the inclusion of NK in the sanctions will cause trouble. Senate Democrats need to only convince three (or in some cases 13) Republicans to get anything they want through.
Again, you're hope, no matter what happens, is to see Trump embarrassed by the outcome. We will see if all of the Democrats vote for the sanctions or if they continue to obstruct and be the party of no that they have been since they lost the majority in congress.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2017/07/22/trump-deno...See MoreWhy would Trump bring up "pardons," if he's not expecting to be convicted? Such a short time from campaign-Trump, promising to be the most transparent administration, who would "drain the swamp." Maybe he just meant he'd bring all the swamp creatures to the surface.
"I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. I am not in favor of gay marriage." No, that's not Mitt Romney ... that's candidate Barack Obama.
"I think we have got to take a hard look at clean coal. I have advocated carbon sequestration, I have advocated power plants looking for ways to use coal more cleanly and efficiently…. The political pressure [to use coal] will remain intense, and I think you have got to admit that coal — of which we have a great and abundant supply in America — is not going away." Nope, not a PA representative who thinks coal isn't going away. That's Hillary "we are going to put a lot of coal miners out of work" Clinton.
"It's the constitutional duty of the president to select a Supreme Court nominee, and the Senate has a responsibility to give that nominee a fair consideration with a timely hearing and a timely vote." Followed with a tweet demanding an up or down vote, and the hast tag, #doyourjob. Not Mitch McConnell. That was Tammy Baldwin, who supported a filibuster for Gorsuch.
What were those people covering up?
It happens all the time, but it only gets your goat when it's a member of the Republican party or Trump's people. Long story short, this happens all of the time.
This also suggests, if we cannot solve ...See MoreI ran into this today while listening to economist David Cay Johnston. Plutarch was a Greek who lived from AD 46 to AD 120. When a philosopher from this far back in history tells us a truth that many today do not know, all that can be said is, "Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it."
This also suggests, if we cannot solve the problem of inequality, this country will no longer be what it is today! Or maybe I should say - as David Cay Johnston says - the history of America will start with "America was!"
Tim FinneganTEC, you must support my idea of a "wage" if you want to end all inequality. Not a minimum wage, not a maximum wage, just a wage. Everyone is equal. Everyone from the pro-athlete to the burger flipper to Bernie Sanders makes the same money. Income inequality ... gone ... if that were to ever happen.
Plus, saying that "Everyone from the pro-athlete to the burger flipper to Bernie Sanders makes the same money. Income inequality . . . gone" is an "argument in the extreme", which makes it a dumb argument.
The quote in the OP says "An imbalance." Maybe you should give up black and white arguments in favor of dealing with the nuances that we find in the real world.
President Donald Trump's White House has, according to Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Mick Mulvaney, removed or withdrawn about 860 Obama administration-era federal regulations.
I agree with Chalky. I would love to see who stole this information and leaked it to the press. That would lend some credence to the story. So many anonymous sources unwilling to go on the record. It's time for someone to put their country above their own personal interests and testify on the record.
Could it be the Russians trying to further sully the waters from the past election? Was the Russian ambassador telling the truth in his missive that he knew was being taped? We will never know if the Russian ambassador was telling the truth, or who the anonymous source is.
If this is true, I wish the Democrats and Mueller would finally bring charges and actually put someone on trial. Instead, a whole lot of nothing is being done. These leakers, and those lying to Congress, need to be punished to the full extent of the law.
EasTexSteveThis is just another "the sky is falling" cry by the Trump-haters. Unfortunately for them, what Bob is claiming was not the subject matter of the conversations. Just more fake news by the anti-Trump media.
Or does he have something to hide? Is there more than just the Trump dossier out there? Did they do something illegal? Did they facilitate the Trump, JR meeting? We need to know! Maybe THIS is what could bring Trump down.
But again, you ignore the question. What is fusion GPS hiding? Why else would one invoke a right designed to protect against self-incrimination?
Is it that they set up the Russian meeting with Trump, JR? And who paid for them to do it? Or maybe they have dirt on Hillary or obama? We really need to hear from this group. It will be interesting to see how we get to the bottom of this one.
