You know, we could do the same thing on immigration. We believe strongly in immigration reform. We could say, 'We're shutting down the government, we're not gonna raise the debt ceiling, until you pass immigration reform.' It would be governmental chaos."

Apparently it's okay to say we're shutting down the government until you pass immigration reform when you're the party on the outs. Which is it, Chucky?

I think that this person was spot on with his take... "The basic line is: No matter how strongly one feels about an issue, you shouldn't hold millions of people hostage. That's what the other side is doing. That's wrong and we can't give in to that." Of course, that was the one, the only, Chuck Schumer. Who is doing just that.

For some reason, the Democrats are choosing to be legislative arsonists (That's a Pelosi-ism). "I join the American people in their disgust in what happened in terms of the shutdown of government. That's an unthinkable tactic to use in a political debate." ... that's Pelosi, who is in the party that is in favor of this governmental shutdown.

Cue Bernie... "Ultimately, what we are dealing with tonight is an extraordinary anti-democratic act. Every member of the Senate has strong feelings, sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, but when you are in the minority—they do not control the White House, they do not control the United States Senate—they cannot force the American people to give them what they want." CNN Poll ...Which is more important? Avoid a shutdown or continue DACA? 56/34 is avoid the shutdown.

So, I am amazed that Schumer and Sanders voted for the shutdown.

What happened to all of those strong feelings about keeping the government open? About keeping the full faith and credit of the US Government above question, and to negotiate after that is done? Now, it seems OK to filibuster, and to shut the government down. It seems OK for Democrats to continue to be legislative arsonists and hold a gun to the head of the American people over illegal immigration.

T.E.C. - Iowa Of the millennial women that I know, most were saying they understood a woman would one day be president - just not this woman! Frankly, as a guy, I think they had a bigger point. Hillary, as the first woman president, would have set back female equality by decades.
