A 2015 study by Oxfam found that 1 percent of humanity now controls over half the world's wealth, and the top 20 percent owns 94.5 percent. In short, 80 percent of the world gets by on just 5.5 percent of the world's wealth.
Well, it is interesting reading and it certainly does have something to offer to those who think "If you expect the congress to legislate fairness into our laws, I think you'll be disappointed."
Again, markets only thrive when the participants know that there is an authority that will adjudicate their grievances in a "fair" manner.
About Gates and Zuckerberg, you need to read more widely.
There were other forms of Dos at the time Gates started Microsoft. Just for starters, read the article, "The Man Who Could Have Been Bill Gates."
Regarding Mark Zuckerberg, you need to read on the Winklevoss twins. Not that their claims are true, but, it is clear, If Zuckerberg did not exist, someone like the Winklevoss twins would have invented Facebook!
Well, I have some insight from the books I have read, but most of the time, I like to research what the experts are saying. So, if you wish to conclude the most of "my" ideas are from people who know more than me, you are probably correct.
About the comment "Tell us, tec, what do you know about the economy of ancient Babylon?" I only know what I have read and am certainly not an expert. However, I have read on the Babylonian use of both the shekel and barley as part of their monetary system. If you read on their markets, you know there must have been rules if the markets were to operate properly.
Which returns us to the point, the Babylonian markets must have had an authority that would adjudicate grievances in a "fair" manner. That is the point, not my knowledge level. This statement by you is just wrong, "If you expect the congress to legislate fairness into our laws, I think you'll be disappointed."
A Nebraska Democratic official has been removed Thursday from his chairman post after recordings emerged in which he said he was glad that House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) was shot and that he wished he had died.
In the recording, Phil Montag, who was the volunteer co-chairman of the Nebraska Democratic Party's technology committee, criticized Scalise by saying "his whole job is to … convince Republicans to (expletive) kick people off (expletive) health care."
"I'm glad he got shot. … I wish he was (expletive) dead."
2.Natural gas is a cheap energy alternative, and a clean fuel. But, depending upon the use, it can take a great deal of overhead to convert from other fuels to NG. However, the trucking industry seems to have made the decision to go that route, and the number of electric power plants switching over to NG are growing.
3. I think the coal miners would rather work in the oil/gas fields than in the coal mines. It pays more, and you live longer.
4. Whatever chicken comes in from China will have to pass USDA inspection. Since the deal was for cooked chicken, I doubt I'll be eating much of it since I like to do my own cooking.

What were they h...See MoreSo, Jeh Johson testified under oath that the DNC was contacted about the breaches to their servers, and refused help. DWS claims that never happened. Perhaps she needs to be called to testify under oath about it. One of the two would need to be prosecuted for perjury.
Why did DWS and HRC want to keep their servers private? What were they hiding? Will she testify under oath? Will their be emails that were leaked to prove one side or the other? This should be investigated further.
EasTexSteveTo Tim Finnegan: Probably just more evidence of the democrat/Russian connection and info on the Hillary/Obama/Russian plutonium deal. Nothing important LOL!
Hmmm... Mrs. Sanders might be in some hot water. Will this tank Bernie's campaign (more than his calls for violence)? She's already lawyered up and refusing to comment. Drip, drip, drip. Was this investigation thanks to the Dems? Will this end Bernie's next run before it begins?
Donald Trump's unprecedented actions as president are stacking up daily, but this is a truly new one: A top FBI official will not say whether the president is an "unwitting agent" who aided Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign.
Bill Priestap, the assistant director of the FBI's counterintelligence division, testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee yesterday. He said that Russia "employed a multifaceted approach intended to undermine confidence in our democratic process," including efforts to "discredit" Hillary Clinton and help elect Trump.
"Did Donald Trump become an unwitting agent of the Russians?" asked Sen. Martin Heinrich, D-N.M.
After a long pause, Priestap said, "I can't really comment on that."
"I don't blame you for not answering that question," replied Heinrich, to laughter from the audience.
This follows an expanding investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller as to whether Trump or his associates colluded with Russian forces to influence the 2016 presidential election. So far at issue: former national security adviser Mike Flynn's multiple undisclosed meetings with Russian officials and senior adviser Jared Kushner's proposal to Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak to set up a backchannel for communications with the Kremlin beyond the reach of U.S. intelligence.
At least one intelligence official publicly rang an alarm about Trump's possible status as an unwitting Russian agent well before the election. In an August 2016 op-ed in The New York Times, former CIA Director Michael Morell wrote, "Mr. Trump has also taken policy positions consistent with Russian, not American, interests — endorsing Russian espionage against the United States, supporting Russia's annexation of Crimea and giving a green light to a possible Russian invasion of the Baltic States," Morrell wrote.
"In the intelligence business, we would say that Mr. Putin had recruited Mr. Trump as an unwitting agent of the Russian Federation," he stated.
Tim FinneganInteresting ... the official would also not say that Trump IS a Russian agent. Kamala would have a field day with this "official" who could not answer a simple yes or no question. Too bad he wasn't badgered into being shamed for not answering the question.
