Donald Trump has told Theresa May in a phone call he does not want to go ahead with a state visit to Britain until the British public supports him coming.
The US president said he did not want to come if there were large-scale protests and his remarks in effect put the visit on hold for some time.

The call was made in recent weeks, according to a Downing Street adviser who was in the room. The statement surprised May, according to those present.
The conversation in part explains why there has been little public discussion about a visit.
Trump's personal attorney wasn't in that meeting either, but said "the President never, in form or substance, directed or suggested that Mr. Comey stop investigating anyone, including suggesting that that Mr. Comey "let Flynn go."
Where are the dens in this important question? Why was it not the lead story? Why no stories of someone persisting about that question? We're they afraid of the answer? Or could comey not answer an easy es or no question?
Dems seem to be okay with obstruction of justice when it comes to Lynch. Wish I saw any outrage, much less the same outrage when dealing with might be a nothing burger about Trump.

The pundit continued by outlining, "Did he order it because he wanted to conserve Justice Department resources, or did he order it because he wanted to protect a friend? The former would be a legitimate order; the latter is arguably a corrupt order or a…corrupt intent."
