According to our estimate, 47 percent of total US employment is in the high risk category, meaning that associated occupations are potentially automatable over some unspecified number of years, perhaps a decade or two."

Now, the March 2017 study "Robots and Jobs: Evidence from US Labor Markets" says that for each robot introduced about 6 jobs are lost and results in lower wages for the remaining workers.
Technically they said, "one more robot per thousand workers reduces the employment to population ratio by about 0.18-0.34 percentage points and wages by 0.25-0.5 percent." And yes, they accounted for "the impact of imports from China and Mexico, the decline of routine jobs, offshoring, other types of IT capital, and the total capital stock."
Some jobs are not at risk - to find out the study "The Future of Employment: How Susceptible Are Jobs to Computerisation?" has a list at the end.
Jobs like dentists and pharmacists are safe - sort of. Any dentist will tell you their business only works if the rest of the country has money.
This means we are in this together. We need to get ready for "basic income", and we should start with a "guaranteed job." Yes, they are different!

The family of the Manchester suicide bomber have links to terror networks around the world as it emerged the killer was in a German hotbed of Islamic extremists four days before the attack, it was revealed last night.
Abedi's father Ramadan and younger brother Hashem were in custody in Libya last night after being arrested by counter-terror police a day after elder brother Ismail, 23, was detained in Manchester. Detectives said Hashem had links to ISIS and was planning to carry out a terror attack in Tripoli.
Hashem was accused of having known about his brother's murderous plans for more than a month, while it emerged his father had been a revolutionary fighter against Gaddafi, [and] who publicly voiced support for an Al Qaeda-linked group in Syria.

"Everything we know about Salman Abedi, the Manchester suicide bomber
Suicide bomber Salman Abedi is believed to have travelled to Syria and become radicalised before returning to the UK to cause carnage at a gig in the city where he was born."
He was born in the UK, went to Syria to become radicalized, and they LET HIM BACK IN to the country. So, yeah, let's all keep being stupid and just keep letting em' in!
"Why sho...See MoreThe title of the article was "Why Care About Other People's Children", and I think America should be ashamed that anyone felt the need to write such an article. The author, Steven Singer, says:
(Quote)
As a vocal critic of charter and voucher schools, one of the most frequent questions I get from readers is this:
"Why should I care about other people's children?"
One reader put it this way:
"Why should my child's education and safety have to suffer because of difficult and violent students? …it isn't my responsibility to pay for a miscreant's education."
(End quote)
I understand those Christians who oppose abortion and favor teaching creationism - even if I disagree. However, if Christianity is the keeper of America's value system, the silence by Christians when confronted with not caring about other people's children is a failure of the first order.
Reports are now identifying the suicide bomber who struck following an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester as 23-year-old Salman Abedi. He was yet another 'Known Wolf' terrorist that authorities knew beforehand, but did nothing about.

Just investing in your own child is not good enough. Without investment and opportunity, young people are vulnerable to the crazies who are willing to offer them a "noble purpose" to their life.
Or more simply put, if you put a fourth to a half of your population in or near poverty, don't complain when bad things happen!
Medicare for All is coming because no one trusts this industry and there is no getting the trust back. Worse, the insurance people are so blind they are telling some their premiums are increasing by 100% this year.
Although I thought this story was unbelievably stupid when I was 7 years old, this is the greatest example in my lifetime of people "killing the goose that laid the golden eggs." These idiots could have taken 10% forever and no one would have said a word!
