I guess he no longer believes that the Senate should do the job it was elected to do and give the people the fully functioning Supreme Court they deserve.
Then again, this is like both parties trying to be obstructionists when they are in the minority. that said, I cannot believe the Democrats are trying to stall a nomination for four years of a qualified judge.
I agree. I disagree with Gorsuch's politics but I think he's a solid jurist. I also think his response to questions about Roe v. Wade was notable in that it seems to indicate he doesn't plan to be a judicial activist.

That is EXACTLY what many in the left are claiming. I was simply stating the omitted fact that the "Russian hacking of the election" we hear about has nothing to do with changing vote totals.

It would be nice to see those missing emails Trump asked for the Russians to get. I'm curious why you think the stories about Trump didn't have as much to do with the results? There was a bombshell of one of the women suing him who was going to have a press conference and then didn't. Lots of stories that could have harmed Trump never gained footing.

I don't reject your vote margins, nor that these leaks may have changed people's minds. Do you reject the fact that vote tallies were not altered? Or have you given up?
How so? We have interfered with elections in other countries for decades, so how is it newsworthy that another country attempted to interfere in ours?
TEC posted here last summer an explanation of why Putin disliked Hillary and didn't want her to win: that she would go to war against Russia. The left, however, is in denial. Instead, their narrative is that Putin wanted Trump in the WH to serve as Putin's puppet or mouthpiece.
If you catch me with my hand in the cookie jar and you report that to the public and I lose the election, is that loss my fault or yours? The left purports that Hillary's OWN CHOICES did not result in her loss but that the wikileaks that caught her hand in the cookie jar, did. That is denial.
The left believes that the DNC's false claim that chairs were thrown at a Bernie rally and CNN employee Donna Brazile passing CNN debate questions to Hillary's team in advance of the debate was not OWN fault but the fault of wikileaks for revealing to the public how dishonest the DNC was.
What we will remember that is pivotal about democracy is that this was the election in which the media lost the last scrap of reliability and integrity that it had. There literally is not a sentence written or uttered in the mainstream media that is not emotion-stirring and bias - confirmation seeking. I noticed just the other day how professional and neutral Comey spoke about the investigation of Russian interference, in sharp contrast to the way NBC "translated" Comey's words to make it sound like Trump was already guilty. If only Comey could teach journalism!
If collusion with Russia is found, the news reports will be anti-climactic if they are believed at all because leftists/the media have been claiming collusion all along, based on nothing but the fact that Trump said he admired Putin's toughness.
Of course this will stand out as the first time a billionaire "businessman" with no government experience was elected -which is not necessarily a threat to democracy. How deeply entangled in business he is with Russia has yet to be discovered and that may be a threat to democracy. The fact that private businessmen from other countries regularly lobby the U.S. and hire professional lobbyists like Manafort to look after their financial interests is confusing to me. I don't know why we allow it. I guess I was ignorant of the level of this interaction so if it has been going on for a long time, then it is news only to me.
What will stand out in memory about this election is that a candidate made the devastating mistake of attacking voters. It doesn't take a seasoned or brilliant politician to know that you don't label a quarter of the voters as "deplorable and irredeemable". As even some of the leftist pundits admitted, the main reason why Hillary got as many votes as she did was because her opponent was so terrible.
Maxine Waters tweeted out that we should get ready for impeachment! Is this another Maddow-type claim of having Trump's tax returns? Or does she know something?
The. Again, this is the woman who thinks that Putin invaded Korea. And she has stated that she hopes Trump doesn't even serve a full term (makes McConnells statement seem tame).
The graph is from the s...See MoreAs Pres. Trump denies climate change, new research says the oceans are warming 13&37; faster than previously thought. If you think the air temperature has increased - making mild winters - remember 90&37; of the heat trapped by the earth goes into the oceans. And important, this is not just the ocean surface
The graph is from the study and shows that ocean warming is greatest at the surface, but the entire ocean is warming. Notice the various depths. This will increase sea level rise, cause greater rainfall when it rains, make for stronger hurricanes, and more. However, this will impact the production of food from the oceans and 3 billion people use the oceans as a primary food source.
IMHO, if both sea level rise and a decline in ocean productivity occur together, you will see hundreds of millions of climate change refugees knocking at your door. Yet, we are preparing for nothing!
PS: I would estimate 10 million climate change refugees from Florida alone!
PPS: Notice the three volcanic eruptions (symbols) at the bottom of the graph, and then look for their impact.

Treasury Department files obtained by Judicial Watch last week show Reason Alliance in Somerville, Mass., was given nonprofit status within 10 days of its application in October 2014. The group operates the Satanic Temple out of Washington state and planned an “After School Satan Club” initiative in 2016.
1. The IRS is not allowed to discriminate based on religion, so the fact that this nonprofit was for what you or I consider a ridiculous cause is not material.
2. The conservative groups applying for 501(c)(4) status in the cases referenced (not 501(c)(3) status like the Satanic group) were caught up in a lawsuit about the ability of nonprofits to take out political ads, a case that went all the way to the Supreme Court. The Satanic group was not ever in the same approval stream. (BTW, where's the source for the wait time?)
3. My nonprofit was approved about 2 weeks after the application was complete, so short wait times are not unusual.
4. It's a good idea to know your sources. "Founded on May 17, 1982, by Unification Church leader Sun Myung Moon, the Washington Times was owned by News World Communications, an international media conglomerate associated with the church until 2010, in which Moon and a group of former executives purchased the paper. It is currently owned by diversified conglomerate Operations Holdings, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the church."
President Donald Trump’s approval has dropped five points in the last month, according to the poll: 43 percent currently approve of the job he’s doing as president, compared with 51 percent who disapprove.
And on health care, the president’s approval rating is even lower. Just 35 percent approve of how he is handling the issue, compared with 55 percent who disapprove.
Asked about the White House’s revised travel ban, which was halted Wednesday night by a federal judge, 43 percent said they approved of the ban, compared with 54 percent who disapproved.
It will be interesting to see how the public responds to Trump's newly proposed budget, which calls for huge increases in defense spending while slashing programs like Meals on Wheels, the EPA, the Dept. of Education, public transportation, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
"So, was the Congressional Budget Office really “way, way off … in every aspect” of how it predicted that Obamacare would work, as the White House claims? No, it wasn’t. The CBO actually nailed the overall impact of the law on the uninsured pretty closely. It predicted a big drop in the percentage of people under age 65 who would lack insurance, and that turned out to be the case. CBO projected that in 2016 that nonelderly rate would fall to 11 percent, and the latest figure put the actual rate at 10.3 percent.
It’s true (as Trump administration officials have repeatedly pointed out) that CBO greatly overestimated the number who would get government-subsidized coverage through the new insurance exchanges. But at the same time, CBO underestimated the number who would get coverage through expanding Medicaid. And whatever the failings of CBO’s predictions, they were closer to the mark than those of the Obama administration and some other prominent forecasters."
Worse, is it okay to throw out the estimate and in its place use nothing but the wishful thinking that goes with your opinion!
Remember, in science, the hierarchy goes from opinion, to anecdotes, to single study, to numerous studies, to an overwhelming amount of evidence. The poster "Score" is basically saying, if, at any point, things are turning out in a way I do not like, I can jump back to opinion and throw everything else away.
This is why I wrote, "They reject any discipline of thought used in drawing conclusions."
