It will be nice to see Obama's Legacy fade away and disappear. I'm sure he's a nice guy except for the way he screwed over America's friends and allies but that's how the cookie crumbles. President Trump's executive actions will have a powerful effect on restoring quality of government in these United States of America.

Asked and answered. I don't have to respond to delusions or poorly phrased questions.

Well, we know bob is very upset but the president hasn't threatened to declare martial law. He said something different none of which threatened to violate the law.

I appreciate your effort to deflect, but you were asked a direct question. Please provide a link to where the president threatened to declare martial law. (I realize he never said that) I'm thinking there is a neat legal strategy to use where the president works with the governor of a state to formulate a strategy to suppress criminal gangs. It probably never occurred to either you or bob. Maybe instead of wringing your hands in despair at the sight of Mr. Trump keeping campaign promises you ought to consider why the problems he's attacking escaped your notice but resonated strongly with the electorate.

Trump didn't give a public statement detailing an offer to extend the FBI. Chicago's mayor last week just gave a lengthy statement to the press about the DOJ report. There are several recommendations and mandates for Chicago PD to follow. He sent out one of his glib tweets. He gave no recommendations. I am going to trust to the best that I can understand, that Trump uses his (best) words to communicate. I am not giving in to what's in his heart over what I see him tweet or what he says. I am not going to cave to alternative facts.

In the article "Trump’s ‘Debt Bomb’: Deficit May Grow, Defense Budget May Not", you find this:
(Quote: Notice that "American Enterprise Institute", a conservative think tank!)
“Trump is going to explode the debt,” GOP pundit Mackenzie Eaglen said. “What you’re going to see is a debt bomb.” Mackenzie Eaglen, defense analyst at the American Enterprise Institute.
While the new president wants to grow the military, rebuild infrastructure, and cut taxes, Eaglen said, his plan to fund all that that through steep domestic spending cuts “is complete fantasy” that will never pass the Senate.
(End quote)
The Congressional Budget Office projects the federal budget deficit to grow again, adding nearly $10 trillion to the federal debt over the next 10 years. That would be a trillion dollar deficit per year.
Yet, no surprise! Republicans only complain about the deficit and debt when the Democrats are in power.
But worse, the plan is to cut spending on everything from the EPA, to all social services. At some point, the Republican plan will create an America in which every bit of government spending goes to the military and corporate subsidies. The people of America will be on their own in an economy that no longer works.
- Women still can vote! - Abortion is still legal! - Planned Parenthood can still provide the services that should be accessible from the mandatory health insurance required by the ACA (So, why do we need PP if everyone must have insurance that covers these services?). - Those who are currently breaking federal immigration law are not being rounded up and deported, breaking up families with at least one member choosing to break federal law. - LGBTQAIP marriages are still legal and not being retroactively dissolved! - And here is the list of rights that have been taken away from women: (Yes, still nothing here)
Now, what has he done? - Created or saved thousands of jobs. This has happened in many ways, most recently in the infrastructure of building pipelines (I don't agree with the pipeline through tribal lands, btw). - Started talk about his proposed wall to help secure our borders (and keep people from breaking federal immigration law). - The Dow has passed a record 20,000. - Plans to finally announce his pick for the Supreme Court, which I am sure the Democrats will be quick to hold hearings on so that we can have the full court that they desire.
Looks like quite a few things are coming down the pipeline. We will see if anything gets through the obstructionists in the Senate, or if he will be forced to use his pen and his phone. Will he reach across the aisle, or will he follow the Obama doctrine of "we tried it your way. You lost. Get in the back."
- Planned Parenthood? Still open and providing abortions and other health services. - Here is a full list of women's rights Trump has taken away: - Muslims are still allowed in the United States of America - Millions of families are still together despite the choice to immigrate to the United States illegally. - No one has lost their insurance, even if they like their plan.
Some things that have happened... - Madonna has revealed that she has thought of blowing up the WH. - Reports are that no one was arrested at the women's march in DC (Congrats for following the law!). - A writer for SNL attacked Barron Trump via twitter. I thought children were off limits. That's pretty low for Ms. Katie Rich. I thought love trumped hate, but apparently, the hate of some women knows no bounds.
Still waiting to see if the sun will come up on day 4, or if the left was right that the world was done for.

The Hyde Acts prevent federal funds from being used. De- funding planned parenthood only de-funds the other services they provide.
If we are to ban abortion, do you think there will be fewer abortions? We can really make life miserable if we make birth control and STD testing and HIV testing less accessible. It's going to get really fun when we reduce medicaid and food. Is that what makes America Great?

- Muslims are still allowed to practice their first amendment rights. - Despite not following federal law, there have been no mass deportations breaking up families with one (or more) member(s) who refuse to follow immigration law. - Women can still vote! - Abortion is still legal! - California, despite threats, has not seceded from the union. - Finally, here is a list of all the rights that have been taken from women by our President:
We will see if the sun comes up tomorrow. My friends on the left fear that it won't, but I have faith that it will. I see our President working on creating or saving many jobs at the moment. We will see if Congress grants him a full slate of appointees, or if they will continue to obstruct. We will see how our current President follows the precedent set by our last president and uses his pen and his phone to rule (rather than going through Congress).
T.E.C. - IowaAbout "Muslims are still", "Women can still", and "Abortion is still", I am not big at giving people credit for doing nothing. Maybe we should list what he has done! And no, I am not saying all is bad!

The reason for the "still" is that many sky-is-falling doom-and- gloom types on the left said these things WOULD happen as soon as Trump was elected. He's not the guy I voted for, and when he actually does something, I will hold his feet to the fire.
However, none of the "concerns" voiced have happened. A lot of fear lingering coming from the left, though.
First I have w...See MoreI was moved to write when the article said America is collapsing the same way the Soviet Union did. So I guess this is for all of those who "hate that communism" and have blind faith in Neo liberal Capitalism.
This is from the article, "Trump, Sanders, and the Collapse of the American Oligarchy!"
First I have written that capitalism does this oligarchy thing over and over. It is inherent in capitalism. The article says "America has witnessed a similar cycle of oligarchic corruption starting in the 1760s, 1850s, 1920s, and 2000s." Plus the article ends with "In short, our goal must be to figure out how to end oligarchy forever, not just create a new version of it."
That will mean capitalism has to go - along with the idea that a person or corporation can become as wealthy as they wish!
But back to the signs of America's collapse - you know, that Soviet Union thing! The article says:
(Quote)
Developed by British archaeologist Sir Colin Renfrew in 1979[2], the following “Signs of Failing Times” have played out across time in 26 distinct societies ranging from the collapse of the Roman Empire to the collapse of the Soviet Union:
1. Elite power and well-being increase and is manifested in displays of wealth.
2. Elites become heavily focused on maintaining a monopoly on power inside the society; Laws become more advantageous to elites, and penalties for the larger public become more Draconian.
3. The middle class evaporates.
4. The “misery index” mushrooms, witnessed by increasing rates of homicide, suicide, illness, homelessness, and drug/alcohol abuse.
5. Ecological disasters increase as short-term focus pushes ravenous exploitation of resources.
6. There’s a resurgence of conservatism and fundamentalist religion as once golden theories are brought back to counter decay, but these are usually in a corrupted form that accelerates decline.
(End quote)
Interestingly, I have argued that the Soviet Union was not Marx's communism! It was a totalitarian government. That made their economic system the same as ours. In the Soviet Union a small group of rich people - albeit in the communist party - decided everything. In America, it is the same - a small group of rich people who have bought the government decide everything. And now, we get to collapse too!
PS: There is an alternative to collapse in the article!
