Well, this is where the Republicans are taking us. The title of the article is “Arkansas Lawmaker Introduces Bill to Ban Howard Zinn From Classrooms.” Simply put, we are back to “banning books.” Freedom in America is gone! Creating a generation of children who think the way we want them to think is in – which is really not thinking at all!

And here I thought Iowa was in trouble since the Republicans took over. Yet, in Iowa, all the Republicans want is a freeze on hiring Democrats as college professors until their numbers are near equal. See the article, “Iowa Bill Would Force Universities to Hire Right-Wing Professors.”

I post this, and will be waiting for conservatives to defend this! Their party is insane!
Tim Finnegan Isn't trying to hire more right wing professors a good thing so that students can get an equal exposure to many points of view? Or could it be called affirmative action? Or is it similar to schools who look to hire different minority groups and express their preferences in the hiring announcement?

No, I think that no groups should get pref...See More

Plus, just who decides if the current professors are liberal or conservative? Answer: The same conservative legislators w...See More

Tim Finnegan TEC seems to be arguing against affirmative action! Hire the best person for the job? Sounds good to me.

Yet in this day and age, all we hear about is how not enough people of color are hired for this job or that job. I am all for hiring the best person for the job regardless of identified race, identified gender, or identified ideology. I...See More

T.E.C. - Iowa I have never been in favor of affirmative action. It
inflames racism. I tell the story of a friend who did too
much drinking during his first semester in college. After
that he straightened up and was an “A” student.
Unfortunately, that first semester meant his grade point
was too low for veterinary medicine school. Yet, in the...See More
