Remember those Russian sanctions! Well, Russia adapted! A report from the United Nations says the sanction cost Europe 100 billion dollar while it cost Russia 55 billion. Below are some items from the report with my comments in parentheses.

1. "The Government applied very effectively a counter-cyclical policy. . . ." (For those who do not know, that means they did not do austerity in bad economic times. Too bad America is not that smart!)

2. Emphasis on research was increased, returning to an earlier stage when, in many sectors, including space technology, the Russian Federation was at the forefront. (Now I wish someone would sanction America!)

3. Effective import substitution technologies were put in place, in particular in agriculture. (Bad news for Europe! Russia is building substitutes for what they once bought from Europe.)

4. A policy was quickly introduced to pivot towards other partners in Asia and other regions. (Again, bad news for Europe!...See More
